[FRAMED] exists to shine light on Framestore’s most fascinating cast of characters: its people. Presented with a probing list of questions and a demandingly short deadline, this feature puts the hopes, dreams, and desktops of our MVPs on the digital wall, for all to see. Welcome to [FRAMED].

What are you guilty of?

Eating too much sugar.

What was your last brush with danger?

We did a department outing after work and I went to bed past my bedtime.

Your last brush with greatness?

I woke up the next day and I wasn’t that tired!

Your worst character fault?

I lose everything… All the time! I’m probably looking for my house keys as you read this.

Your most shining quality?

Staying positive and cheerful even in stressful situations.

If you had taken a different path, what would you be doing now?

I’d love to be a travelling photographer.

You’re on the run from the law, where are you headed?

Definitely not telling.

Who’s your partner-in-crime?

I have to say my girlfriend. Having three kids in a very short period of time and not ripping our eyeballs out… I think that means we make a pretty decent team.

Fantasy cellmate?

Any dogs. Man’s best friends and they can dig holes…

What’s your favorite movie/TV show and why?

Nightmare Before Christmas. If it wasn’t from that movie, I wouldn’t be working in film.

Your greatest achievement?

Raising three kids and surviving whilst doing it.

Most valuable skill?

Certified “Dad Jokes Expert”.

Go on, say something bragging:

I’m a pretty good climber. It helps having a climbing gym next to the studio.

Name your vice/pet peeve?

People being late!

The DREAM project would entail:

Aliens riding unicorns flying in space… with lots of explosions.

Your career highlight to date:

Having someone from my team win a VES. It’s not even me who won but I’m still VERY proud of what the Layout department has achieved.

This week I learnt that:

70% of Canadians live South of the 49th parallel (border of Canada and US). Look it up!

What’s your current view?

Probably the best view in the entire office and bonus construction site. My son is actually very jealous because I get to see a crane all day.

Give us a desk tour:

At home, the walls surrounding my desk are plastered with drawings and paintings from my kids.

What do you need to work, on the daily?

I was going to say coffee but that would be too easy. “Collaboration”! There! That’s a fancy word.

Framestore is, to you, in three words:

Collaboration (see what I did there), family, opportunity

Best thing about your work environment?

If I need to talk to someone, I’m only a click away no matter where they are.

Framestore is great at:

Getting the best out of everyone.

Favourite artform?

Photography.

Favourite image?

The series of images taken by the Rosetta Craft on Comet 67P. It blows my mind that we managed to land on something so remote and small and manage to send back images. Meanwhile, I can’t connect to my Bluetooth speakers from my basement…

Fictional character you’d like to hang with?

Jack Skellington.

Happiness looks like:

A child’s laugh.

If not here, then where?

Camping in the middle of a forest with no phone service (it might be where I’ll be hiding from the law… Shhhh).

What do you think of too often?

“Is there any coffee left in my mug?”

And not enough?

“I should drink more water instead of coffee.”

Couldn’t live without:

Something to fidget with.

If you ruled the world:

Whoever is late for appointments or meetings will have to go to jail for the same amount of time they were late for.

Benoit Lefebvre, you’ve been [FRAMED].
