[FRAMED] exists to shine light on Framestore’s most fascinating cast of characters: its people. Presented with a probing list of questions and a demandingly short deadline, this feature puts the hopes, dreams, and desktops of our MVPs on the digital wall, for all to see. Welcome to [FRAMED].

What are you guilty of?

Derailing meetings with detailed descriptions of what I’m cooking for dinner.

What was your last brush with danger?

My cat ‘accidentally’ dropped a steel pot on my head yesterday.

Your last brush with greatness?

Teaming up with some Coords to track down an episode of the Price is Right from the 90s that one of our colleagues played on, then napping through it when it aired over the holidays.

Your worst character fault?

My ability to be extremely annoying when I want to be.

Your most shining quality?

I don’t believe in no win scenarios.

You’re on the run from the law, where are you headed?

France or Italy, may as well have good cheese while I’m away.

Who’s your partner-in-crime?

Over the last year, definitely the Moonfall coords.

What’s your favourite movie/TV show and why?

When Harry Met Sally — One of the best comedies ever made.

Your greatest achievement?

Convincing my cat to wake me up at 6:45am instead of 4:45am

Most valuable skill?

Always having a plan, might not be a good one, but definitely have one.

Go on, say something bragging:

I made a perfect french omelette in a stainless steel pan without any of it sticking, twice.

Name your vice/pet peeve?

Procrastination. The department coords will probably see the irony in this.

The DREAM project would entail:

The dream team of course! The list is here somewhere… Show itself wouldn’t matter to me, just needs to be a rock and roll squad.

Your career highlight to date:

Jingle Jangle Lighting team. Awesome crew that faced some crazy odds before the finish. 10/10, can’t wait to work with them all again. Ended up being a decent Christmas movie too!

This week I learnt that:

You can change the colour of Notes and Approvals app in Shotgun!

What’s your current view?

All the Paw prints on my screen…

Give us a desk tour!

1.5L french press, coffee mug, three monitors, two keyboards, laptop, cat napping on said laptop. Show tunes playing on speaker.

What do you need to work on the daily?

More sleep and task statuses… all the task statuses.

Framestore is, to you, in three words:

My shot.

Best thing about your work environment?

At home? Being able to do laundry between meetings. At the office? Being able to track down my sups!

Framestore is great at:

Community.

Favourite artform?

Writing.

Favourite image?

The Goldfinch — Fabritius. Something about the bird.

Happiness looks like:

My Cat after stealing an entire chicken breast from the counter.

If not here, then where?

Where everybody knows your name.

What do you think of too often?

What would they think of this?

And not enough?

Who cares, do it.

Couldn’t live without:

Coffee! French style hot chocolate would be a valid substitute though.

If you ruled the world:

There are some timelines best not discussed.

Chris Mancini, you’ve been [FRAMED].
