[FRAMED] exists to shine light on Framestore’s most fascinating cast of characters: its people. Presented with a probing list of questions and a demandingly short deadline, this feature puts the hopes, dreams, and desktops of our MVPs on the digital wall, for all to see. Welcome to [FRAMED].

What are you guilty of?

Making too many brownies.

What was your last brush with danger?

We took the asset team skydiving last summer.

Your last brush with greatness?

Backpacking in the Grand Canyon.

If you had taken a different path, what would you be doing now?

I would probably be a ranger at one of the national parks out West.

You’re on the run from the law, where are you headed?

Galapagos Islands. It seems far away enough.

Who’s your partner-in-crime?

My hubby, Mike.

Fantasy cellmate?

Astrid Lindgren, the creator of Pippi Longstocking and many other characters.

Your greatest achievement?

Living in three different countries.

Most valuable skill?

Logical problem solving. It can be broadly applied to everything.

Go on, say something bragging:

I’m Swedish, we don’t do that.

Name your vice?

Too many brownies.

The DREAM project would entail:

It would be nice to sculpt some cool looking dragon with lots of skin details.

Your career highlight to date:

Team achievement would be our work on episodic projects in the New York office, like Away on Netflix. Personal achievement would probably be some character builds in Super Bowl spots for brands like Smithwick’s and Volkswagen.

This week I learnt that:

I do NOT have COVID after my recent travels.

What’s your current view?

The East Village in NYC.

Give us a desk tour.

Anatomy mannequin, beaver skull, a glass Scrooge McDuck head, and a photogrammetry kit.

What do you need to work, on the daily?

Steady internet and my Wacom.

Framestore is, to you, in three words:

The mothership (that’s two, I know).

Framestore is great at:

Diversity and opportunities.

Favourite artform?

Sculpture and mask making.

Favourite image?

The Blue Marble.

Fictional character you’d like to hang with?

Scrooge McDuck, not the Ducktails character but the comic character by Carl Barks and Don Rosa.

Happiness looks like:

Hiking the Pacific Crest Trail from start to finish.

If not here, then where?

The Moon?

Couldn’t live without:

Brownies.

If you ruled the world:

It would all look like the Electric Forest Festival — art installations everywhere.

How are you staying inspired by working remotely?

By keeping in touch with my colleagues.

How are you spending your weekends?

Outside camping in the forest.

What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned about yourself during quarantine?

I’m pretty good at self motivating.

Show us your work station:

Jessica Soderstrom, you’ve been [Framed]!
