[FRAMED] exists to shine light on Framestore’s most fascinating cast of characters: its people. Presented with a probing list of questions and a demandingly short deadline, this feature puts the hopes, dreams, and desktops of our MVPs on the digital wall, for all to see. Welcome to [FRAMED].

What are you guilty of?

Eating way too much sugar.

What was your last brush with danger?

Going for my first winter run in Montreal a few weeks ago. Freezing and slippery!

Your last brush with greatness?

I quit smoking a few months ago.

Your worst character fault?

I don’t really think things through before acting, it drives my husband crazy.

Your most shining quality?

I adapt and learn quickly.

You’re on the run from the law, where are you headed?

The sun. I’d probably get caught sipping an iced daiquiri.

Who’s your partner-in-crime?

My husband.

Fantasy cellmate?

Anyone who’d help me escape!

Your greatest achievement?

My kid, she is a kind soul and I’m very proud of that.

Most valuable skill?

I’m resilient.

Go on, say something bragging:

I do a fantastic elephant impression.

Name your vice/pet peeve?

Inefficiency.

The DREAM project would entail:

A good budget on the topic of climate change.

Your career highlight to date:

Becoming a VFX producer. I moved to Vancouver 9 years ago to learn how to properly speak english and work on big feature films. So it definitely felt like an achievement.

This week I learnt that:

Sloths have to go down their tree and risk their live to relieve themselves.

What’s your current view?

My screens, a white wall and the multiples delivery dates of my current show.

Give us a desk tour!

My computer and monitors, a bunch of books to raise them, a calculator, lip balms — a lot of those, I don’t know why I have so many actually, hand cream and my headphones.

What do you need to work, on the daily?

A good night of sleep and coffee.

Framestore is, to you, in three words:

Multiculturalism, fun, quality.

Best thing about your work environment?

Working from home allows me to work as much as I need to without compromising (too much) on my family life or working out time. It changed everything.

Framestore is great at:

Creature work, positive work environment

Favourite artform?

Music.

Favourite image?

A picture of my husband holding my kid when she was a baby — both bursting out laughing.

Fictional character you’d like to hang with?

The genie in Aladdin.

Happiness looks like:

Morning coffee in my sunny backyard on weekends’ mornings while the kiddo is playing — when it’s not -20 outside, of course.

If not here, then where?

Brittany, France.

What do you think of too often?

Climate change.

And not enough?

Nothing — I’m trying to get better at thinking about nothing.

Couldn’t live without:

My family.

If you ruled the world:

I don’t think I’m the best suited for the job.

Marine Chéné, you’ve been [FRAMED].
