[FRAMED] exists to shine light on Framestore’s most fascinating cast of characters: its people. Presented with a probing list of questions and a demandingly short deadline, this feature puts the hopes, dreams, and desktops of our MVPs on the digital wall, for all to see. Welcome to [FRAMED].

What are you guilty of?

Watching the same movies too many times

What was your last brush with danger?

I snipped the end of my thumb with a knife chopping a tomato… silly man

Your last brush with greatness?

Sitting about 10 feet away from Hans Zimmer watching him perform a history of his music, it was amazing.

That’s incredible! If you had taken a different path, what would you be doing now?

Probably making music

You’re on the run from the law, where are you headed?

Somewhere in the highlands…no wait, somewhere warm near the ocean

Who’s your partner-in-crime?

My kids always tell me how it really is..:)

What’s your favourite movie/TV show and why?

There are too many to narrow it down, but if I have to name one it has to be Blade Runner, it got me hooked on this whole world of filmmaking

Your greatest achievement?

My kids..did I mention them before? :)

Most valuable skill?

Patience…you need that with kids… and clients ;)

Ha! Name your vice/pet peeve?

Something empty that’s been put back in the fridge!… why!?

The worst. The DREAM project would entail:

…working with all your favourite people

Your career highlight to date:

One of them has to be Blade Runner 2049, it was a great experience to help design on such a film, we had to sometimes pinch ourselves.

This week I learnt that:

I drink too much coffee!

What’s your current view?

…looking out into my garden wishing it wasn’t raining.

Classic London. Go on, give us a desk tour

Working from home it’s an iMac, 2 large speakers, wacom tablet, photoshop, blender..oh and ZOOM!

What do you need to work, on the daily?

Black coffee!

Framestore is, to you, in three words:
“my second home”…cheesy enough for you? ;)

Maybe :) Best thing about your work environment?

…in Chancery Lane it’s sitting on the balcony on a sunny day eating lunch with your colleagues. It’s a great building, it brings everyone together.

Framestore is great at:

…trying to create the best in whatever we do and creating a relaxing environment while doing it.

Favourite artform?

Music & film

Favourite image?

..it changes all the time…at the moment it’s my current desktop pic.. an island somewhere by the sea

Happiness looks like:

…a warm bowl of apple crumble and custard

Mmm, agreed. If not here, then where?

By the sea (there’s a pattern forming…)

What do you think of too often?

..what will I make for dinner?..

And not enough?

..getting my grown up kids to make dinner!

Couldn’t live without:

That’s a long list…. one of them would be a guitar

Martin Macrae, you’ve been [FRAMED].
