[FRAMED] exists to shine light on Framestore’s most fascinating cast of characters: its people. Presented with a probing list of questions and a demandingly short deadline, this feature puts the hopes, dreams, and desktops of our MVPs on the digital wall, for all to see. Welcome to [FRAMED].

What are you guilty of?

Playing too many video games sometimes (1800 hours in Lost Ark — the game only came out 4 month ago).

What was your last brush with danger?

Climbing down a little mountain in flip flops in Cambodia — that was stupid. Disclaimer: the flip flops broke midway.

Your last brush with greatness?

I lost 18kg in a few months just by eating Keto.

Your worst character fault?

I cannot stay focused on one thing for very long.

If you had taken a different path, what would you be doing now?

I would have been a fashion photographer.

You’re on the run from the law, where are you headed?

Back where I grew up in the hood, police don’t go there much.

Who’s your partner-in-crime?

My best friend Cyril “mon gars sûr”!

Fantasy cellmate?

Lucifer.

What’s your favourite movie/TV show and why?

Recently I have enjoyed watching Squid Games and Casa Del Papel (Money Heist).

Your greatest achievement?

I was published in Vogue Italia.

Most valuable skill?

Attention to detail.

Go on, say something bragging:

Nobody in the rigging department can beat me in basketball.

Name your vice/pet peeve?

I look too confident (just look at that mugshot lol) but inside I’m the opposite.

The DREAM project would entail:

That everything goes smoothly and the client approves directly without any kickback.

Your career highlight to date:

Minions, Final Fantasy, Star Wars, Black Panther.

This week I learnt that:

Ikea is not that cheap.

What’s your current view?

I see the Hollywood mountain from my windows.

Give us a desk tour.

You would find 2 x 27 inch screens, a table pad, a mechanical keyboard, some musical gears to produce beats, and my favourite DBZ figures.

What do you need to work, on the daily?

What’s on my desk, music, and a good internet connection!

Framestore is, to you, in three words:

Best place ever.

Best thing about your work environment?

It’s flexible and also the greatest community of riggers I’ve worked with. There are about 50 riggers between L.A., Vancouver, Montreal, NYC, Chicago and London. A big family.

Framestore is great at:

Providing the best environment.

Favourite artform?

Photography.

Favourite image?

A drawing of Goku by Akira Toriyama.

Fictional character you’d like to hang with?

Luffy from One Piece.

Happiness looks like:

Now.

If not here, then where?

Tahiti.

What do you think of too often?

I don’t have enough time to do everything I want to do.

And not enough?

Calling my family.

Couldn’t live without:

It’s sad, but my phone. It keeps me connected to everyone.

If you ruled the world:

“Imagine that, I’d free all my sons, I love ’em love ’em baby”

How are you staying inspired by working remotely?

I don’t know if I was more inspired when I wasn’t working remotely, haha.

How are you spending your weekends?

With my family, doing sports and photography — I’ve set up my own photo studio.

What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned about yourself during quarantine?

I lived through quarantine in Vancouver where it rained a lot, so I knew I needed to live under the sun. I just moved to L.A.

Nims Bun, you’ve been [FRAMED].
